2009 Program
In 2009, the 3-day training week will be held at The University of New England, Armidale NSW. Seminars will mainly be conducted at Wright Lecture Theatre on campus. Accomodation will be provided by Duval College on the university campus. The small stock competition will be held on site at the University of New England in the meat science chillers and the Beef competition will be held at Cargill Beef abattoir in Tamworth.
Some features of this years competition include:
- Careers expo: Meeting potential employers and opportunities for graduates within the meat industry, combined with tips for graduates
- Industry guest speakers: A range of topics covered including speakers from beef, lamb and pork industries, graziers, feedlotters and processors.
- Hands on training: Head coaches run through a range of theoretical and practical judging tips and practice classes
- Featured special dinner: Formal awards presentation, feature guest speaker and announcement of Australian team.
